Oregon's First Annual Glass Pumpkin Patch!
We at Ocean Beaches Glassblowing are proud to be a sponsor of Oregon's First Annual Pumpkin Patch this Labor Day in Newport, OR. Take a look at pictures of the event here.
The Pumpkin Patch is being put on by Patrick Cahill and a few of his glassblowing friends from Tacoma, WA. Patrick is one of the featured artists in our gallery!
If you've been in the gallery, you've probably seen some of Patrick's pumpkins. We're sure you'd agree he does a simply fantastic job with them, so be sure to check out the Pumpkin Patch!
Ocean Beaches Glass started as a small glassblowing studio, and has evolved into an interesting and colorful full scale gallery located in Oregon's Central Coast area. To the left, you can see a view of the gallery from the Pacific Coast Highway, otherwise known as Highway 101.
Our focus is on hand-blown glass art. Most of our blown glass is created in our studio within the gallery by glass artist Bob Meyer. We also offer blown glass art from four other glassblowers to complement Bob's work.
We have found that a wealth of artistic talent exists in the Central Oregon Coast! We first discovered a handful of painters that live right in our neighborhood, and brought in watercolor, acrylic and oil paintings.
Shortly after, a couple of stained glass artists showed up. Then, a couple of fused glass artists, a mixed media artist, and an artist that did copper repousse'. All of these people live within maybe 10 miles of our gallery!
Later, we were able to bring in some lampwork items from a couple studios in Eugene, then one in Mapleton. But even though we've gone outside our immediate neighborhood for some of our art, we're proud to say that it all comes from right here in Oregon!
You'll find us in beautiful Seal Rock, OR. Seal Rock is right on the Pacific Ocean, and has some of the most breathtaking views you'll see along the entire west coast.
If you're travelling the Oregon coast, Seal Rock deserves a visit. You can find out more about Seal Rock at www.SealRockOR.com.
