Ocean Beaches Glassblowing & Gallery

RETAIL CASHIER NEEDED (July, 2010)

At Ocean Beaches Glassblowing & Gallery, our primary focus is blown glass - we have a glassblowing studio in the building, and an Observation Deck where visitors can watch it happen and hear an explanation from the glassblower. We also have work from over 30 area artists on display, creating a visually pleasing art gallery. If you are interested in being part of such an operation, we encourage you to apply soon!

The Retail Cashier will assist customers with merchandise information and purchases, operate an electronic cash register and reconcile the cash drawer, maintain displays, assist in ticketing of merchandise, and keep the gallery clean.

Successful applicants must possess excellent verbal and customer service skills, and work well with the public. Previous retail experience, a strong work ethic, and a desire to help maintain a spotless gallery are also required. A background or strong interest in art is preferred.

This is a part-time position (approx. 20 hours per week) and may include evenings, weekends and holidays, depending on scheduling needs.
