Ashley Janowiecki acquired her love for art while enrolled at E.L. Bowsher High School. There, she took several art classes including Drawing, Painting, Ceramics 1 and 2, Independent Study in Ceramics, 2-D, 3-D, and Fibers.
In February of 2006, Ashley took on a position as a gallery associate at Firenation Glass Studio and Gallery, and immediately became interested in glass art. Over the next two years, she took glassblowing classes at The Toledo museum of Art. Approximately half way through her glassblowing classes, Ashley began working as a glassblowing assistant for artist Matt Paskiet, owner of Firenation, along with her position as a gallery associate.
After graduating high school, she continued her education in art at The University of Toledo, her main focus being in glass as well as metals and jewelry.
Besides just doing art for fun, Ashley has been accepted into several art exhibitions. Some of these include The 2004 Ohio Governor's Art Exhibition, The 2005 Focus Art Exhibition (Top 25 Juror's Award), E.L. Bowsher's 2007 Senior Art Show, and The Firenation and Friends Exhibition.
Ashley currently shows her artwork at Firenation, and creates her glass there as well as The Toledo Museum of Art. Most recently she has been creating mainly glass and metal sculptural forms, and has also obtained a new found love in lampworking.
